Coral faces frequently attract me on Maui ’s beaches. The watercolor below highlights a moon-face coral. While scanning the original painting, I tried the “Invert” option. This amazing jewel-toned image appeared. Immediately it occurred to me that the richness of its colors is symbolic of all the beauty that lies at the heart of who we really are. We often do not realize or acknowledge what is shining beneath the pale shadow of our physical form and personality.
